In Los Angeles, the fraud escalated as he hired staff to maintain his facade of luxury. His cleaning help, who is the central witness in this episode, was promised large returns by investing money in a company that turned out to be non-existent. Once the money was transferred, Ken disappeared, just as he had previously done in Singapore and Italy.
