Two new Hulu documentary series are dissecting one of America's most scrutinized murder investigations: the case of Richard Allen and the deaths of teenagers Abby Williams and Libby German on the Monon High Bridge in Delphi, Indiana.

"IMPACT x Nightline: Who Is The Delphi Killer?" launched on Hulu in 2024, while "Capturing Their Killer: The Girls on the High Bridge," a three-part series, became available on August 5, 2025. Together, they offer viewers an inside look at the trial, the evidence, and lingering questions about whether police investigation fully captured the truth.

Richard Allen was convicted and sentenced to 130 years in prison for the murders. The case against him rested partly on video evidence from Libby German's cell phone, which captured footage of a man on the bridge—known as "Bridge Guy"—near the time of the killings. Voice comparison analysis also identified Allen's voice in audio clips related to the case.

What makes these documentaries particularly compelling is their access. Both series feature interviews with investigators, journalists, first responders, and friends and relatives of the victims. "Capturing Their Killer" includes exclusive behind-the-scenes video of defense attorneys during the verdict announcement—a rare glimpse into the legal machinery surrounding a high-profile conviction.

Perhaps most notably, Richard Allen's wife speaks publicly for the first time about their marriage and her perspective on the case. Her absence from Allen's sentencing had been noted by observers; now, through the docuseries, she shares her own account of events.

Yet both Hulu series pose a critical question: Is Richard Allen truly the Delphi killer, or did police miss something? This framing reflects ongoing speculation within true crime communities about whether other suspects may have been involved.

Investigators initially identified another suspect, Kegan Klein (also known as Kagan Klein or by the online alias Anthony Shots), a 26-year-old from Peru, Indiana. Klein was linked to a predatory online profile used to solicit explicit images from young girls, including contact with Libby German before her death. An updated suspect sketch released during the investigation was said to match Klein. However, Richard Allen ultimately became the focus of prosecution.

Another early person of interest was Ron Logan, a property owner whose land bordered the crime scene. Logan was noted for reported violent tendencies, and his vehicle was initially linked to the investigation. Some speculation has suggested Logan may not have acted alone.

The conviction of Richard Allen appeared to close the case—police and prosecutors presented it as solved. Yet the decision by both Hulu and true crime audiences to continue examining the details suggests unresolved questions remain in public consciousness.

In his cell, Allen wrote a letter requesting free legal assistance, leading Judge Gull to appoint two defense attorneys. The appeals process and potential post-conviction challenges may extend this case's time in the spotlight for years to come.

For international viewers unfamiliar with the Delphi murders, these documentaries provide essential context: two teenage girls killed in daylight on a rural Indiana bridge, a years-long investigation, and a conviction that may—or may not—represent the full truth. The series allow audiences to weigh the evidence themselves and draw their own conclusions about justice in one of America's most watched murder investigations.
