When police finally gained access to the property in 1996, they made a horrifying discovery. More than 10,000 small bone fragments were scattered in the woods behind the house. Among the identified victims are names such as Jeffrey Allan Jones, Roger Alan Goodlet, and Steven Spurlin Hale. However, the investigation was never completed in the 90s, as Baumeister fled to Ontario, Canada, and took his own life before he could be brought to trial.
